Peace Within, Peace in the World —
Skipping Stones: Multicultural Literary Magazine

This was my first time seeing my writing in print. I submitted my poem “Diversity is a Gift” which matched the theme of the magazine. I wrote about the divided state of the world and how peace starts with a change in individual mindsets.

My poem “In a Sky Without Storms” got published in the anthology after months of drafting and corresponding via email with an assigned editor. I’ve yet to read it myself, but I’ve heard I’m the first poem featured in the book!

Ekphrastic Collection —
Escondido Arts Partnership’s Poets INC

My first poem “Frankencorn: The Modern Produce” discussed the pros and cons of genetically modified organisms in one giant allusion to Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein based on a piece made by Chrisanne Moats. My second poem “Baby, I’m the Queen of” was more vague in meaning, creating a story centered on what I could observe from my assigned mixed media piece. My third poem, “noitcelfeR fo traeH ehT” explores a fleeting childhood inspired by my high school classmate’s piece–a painting of Fremont cottonwood trees by a lake in March.

Issues 10 & 11
USC Descent Magazine

“Daughter of Sacrifice” was born from the theme Homecoming and my personal statement essay for USC. I pitched the rough concept, drafted four versions, workshopped the piece, and implemented feedback received from fellow writers before handing off the final draft to my designated designer.

My current project is a three page commentary on AI in the form of a creative piece written to imitate ChatGPT. It will be published in May 2026.
